Pria Tewas Tergeletak di Kamar Gara-gara iPhone 4S

Seorang pria asal Thailand dilaporkan tewas saat sedang menelepon dengan iPhone-nya yang sedang diisi ulang.

Pria bernama Pisit Charnglek yang berumur 28 tahun itu ditemukan tergeletak di lantai, tangan kirinya memegang sebuah iPhone 4s warna hitam yang terhubung ke charger dan stop kontak. Luka bakar ditemukan di bagian dada serta tangan kirinya yang memegang telepon, sampai-sampai kulitnya menempel.

Menurut laporan media Thailand Daily News, pria yang berasal dari provinsi Chanthaburi ini ditemukan tewas di kamarnya. Polisi setempat menemukan bahwa smartphone tersebut masih terhubung ke charger dan stop kontak listrik yang berada di dekatnya. Diduga kuat korban sedang menelepon saat iPhone sedang dicas.

Sementara itu, menurut Bangkok Post, sang ayah mengaku sempat mendengar teriakan anaknya itu dari kamar, tetapi mengabaikannya karena sang anak sering berbicara saat sedang tidur alias ngelindur.

Pihak berwenang belum bisa mengkonfirmasi penyebab pasti kematian pria malang tersebut. Polisi saat ini masih menunggu hasil otopsi sebelum memastikan penyebab kematian. Diduga ia tewas karena tersengat listrik melalui charger telepon.

Berdasarkan foto yang dilansir Daily News, kepala charger yang digunakan untuk mengisi ulang iPhone tersebut berwarna biru. Itu artinya charger yang digunakan tidak standar atau palsu. Sementara charger standar asli versi Apple berwarna putih.

Charger iPhone aspal (asli tapi palsu) memang marak dijual di pasaran di negara-negara Asia dengan harga murah, termasuk Indonesia. Namun kualitas charger tersebut tidak bisa dijamin keamananya.

Banyaknya kasus iPhone meledak belakangan ini membuat Apple tergerak untuk membuat program pengganti charger non-standar hanya dengan membayar $10.
